As an author and entrepreneur and as an accomplished marketing professional with creative digital media experience in vertical markets for fashion, food and wine, and hospitality, Jean Criss serves as the chief executive officer of Jean Criss Media, LLC, in New York City. Outside of her day-to-day professional activities, Jean Criss dedicated her time and resources to a number of philanthropic and women’s entrepreneurial organizations, including the Women’s Leadership Exchange. In pursuit of its mission to facilitate the success of women business owners, the Women’s Leadership Exchange runs a variety of programs and events that provide a venue for networking, learning, and leadership development. The organization held its 2014 New York Conference on November 18th at the MetLife Building in New York City. The event featured Jean's trilogy series book "My Pain Woke Me Up" with other female authors in book signings, speed coaching, and networking activities as well as presentations by keynote speakers, who discussed social branding, digital marketing, and other topics related to growing a business in today’s closely connected world. Jean spoke on a panel discussion with other women entrepreneurs to discuss strategies and business tactics as an Entrepreneur and Author and this was her second time participating in the WLE conference as a third-year executive member of the program. Each year, the New York Conference includes award ceremonies where they honor recipients of the Mary Schnack Award and the Compass Awards.
